Dear Parent/Guardian:
Welcome Back to the 2026-2027 School Year! We are excited to see all of our students back in the building. Teachers have already been preparing for your child’s return.
Meet the Teacher Night is scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2026. The school will be open for students to drop off their supplies and to meet their teacher. Enter door 1 on the east side of the building. Please note the following times:
Kindergarten 5:00-6:00 p.m.
1st Grade 5:30-6:30 p.m.
2nd Grade 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Parking will be available on the north and south side of the building, including the north side of the YHS parking lot. Parking will also be available at the YHS Tennis courts on River Road.

Car Tags - Car Tags must be displayed, with the student name visible, when picking up a student at dismissal. This will expedite the pick-up process. Each student will receive the first car tag free at Meet the Teacher Night. Additional car tags may be purchased for $1.00 each, at Meet the Teacher Night, in the cafeteria or by sending a note, with the money, in your child’s folder. Be sure to list the student name, teacher name, and number of car tags you want. The tags will be sent home with the student that day.
Bus Transportation - Prior to school starting, bus drivers will reach out to families to communicate bus pick up and drop off times. If you have specific questions regarding transportation, please contact our Transportation Department at 759-2620.
Volunteer Opportunities - If you are interested in volunteering or attending field trips with your child, I would highly encourage you to start the background check process now. Please click the following link for more information. Volunteer – District – Yorktown Community Schools
Contact PVE - Beginning Wednesday, July 29th, the office will be open 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will close from 12:00-1:30 each day for lunch and to make deliveries throughout the building.
